April pick of the Geek & Sundry/VFH book club!

So, you guys are familiar with Felicia Day - Dr Horrible's Sing-Along Blog and Buffy actress, as well as producer of The Guild?

Felicia has a YouTube channel called Geek & Sundry. It's a great spot for jolly geekery, and I found out yesterday that her bookclub, Vaginal Fantasy Hangout, has chosen GHOST PLANET as the "main pick" for April!

At the end of last year Felicia tweeted (to her 2 million+ fans) that she had bought GHOST PLANET along with some other new releases. Later she read it and rated it 4 stars on Goodreads.

You can check out the club's forum and also find the GP discussion thread on Goodreads:

The group always picks an alternate title, I imagine in case folks have already read the other book (or don't want to). So GHOST PLANET is up with SONG OF SCARABAEUS, by Sara Creasy, which I have been intending to read for AGES.

Are you a fan of THE HOST?

Then you might really enjoy GHOST PLANET, says author and blogger Heather Massey. Join the discussion about face-to-face promo of science fiction romance over at The Galaxy Express.

Taking a deep breath, I approached her. Mind you, I never get the chance to hand-sell science fiction romances to people I encounter in my daily life. This is new territory for me. On top of that, I didn’t even know the woman’s name. Still, I couldn’t let the opportunity pass by.

A title came to mind immediately. I knew it had to be a mainstream print book. Even though I snarl at the idea of the wide, artificial divide between print and digital, print still carries more weight with many people. It was the safest bet, all things considered ...

News on the next release!

My second romantic sci-fi novel for Tor is scheduled for release in February 2014! Here's a little info about it:

Working title: THE OPHELIA PROPHECY

Extreme biotech experiments lead to the genesis of a race of mutant humans with insect-like qualities. Strongly sensual, with heightened perception and superior physical strength, the Manti are a futuristic fae. Embittered toward their creators, they engineer a virus that decimates humanity.

Pax and his scarab ship, Banshee, are a menacing presence in the skies over Sanctuary, the last human city. Asha is an archivist working to preserve humanity’s most valuable resource. Strangers and enemies, they find themselves stranded together on the edge of the city, neither with a memory of how they got there.

With their hearts and fates on a collision course, they must unlock each other's secrets and forge a bond of trust before a rekindled conflict pushes their two races into repeating the mistakes of the past.

Also, this one will be released in trade paperback format. Woot! Read a sample here.
